Earthquake 921
It was time to go to bed and I said goodnight to my family. Time flew, everything was so quiet I could hear the sound of clock ticking, the sound kept me awake.
Then, suddenly “wham!” A huge sound woke me up.
“wake up, wake up, an earthquake” my mom was yelling and she sounded frightened.
My mom was holding me in one hand pulling my sister with the other, and we all went for the door.
Then, mom said “something is wrong where’s daddy?”
Oh! No! I couldn’t believe it myself, daddy was still sleeping in his bedroom.
Quickly mom woke daddy up, and we all went to the living room.
The pendant lamp above us was swinging like a wagging dog’s tail. It was so terrible. I started to feel afraid.
Then, another loud noise shocked us again. This time I could see the fear on my family’s faces, as if the end of the world were.
Later, I heard the sound of an ambulance shutting back and forth in this quiet night. I guess my dad wanted to find out what had happened just now. Then, my father said “Don’t worry. It will pass soon.”
It was the 921 earthquake and it had caused lots of damages. Some people lost both family members and their houses. Some beautiful mountains and rivers disappeared in on night, wondered why this tragedy happened to us? In Japan, it had just happened earthquake and Tsunami. It also took millions of people away. There are still many places that need to be rebuilt.
I really hope all the hardship and sorrowful experiences will fade away from us. Let Formosa be here with us forever.
